Beekeping is my passion since 2012
Hi, I’m Carolina, a beekeeper and the creator of Miele D’Oro, which means “Honey of Gold” in Italian.
Growing up in an picturesque town 30 km from Rome, my father introduced me to the wonders of beekeeping at an early age.
As both an art and a science, beekeeping cultivates patience, balance, and gratitude—all qualities that would later guide both my career and outlook on life.
When I moved to Australia in 2014, I intended to pursue a career as a Medical Scientist. Once arrived, inspired by the beauty of the Northern Rivers, I decided to follow my heart: I returned to my passion for beekeeping with 16 hives in the beautiful Tweed Valley.
Since then, my happy bee family has grown to 43 hives. While conversations around what we need to do to save the bees continue to be vital, I came to a surprising realization: my bees had saved me, bringing me closer to the natural world and to myself.
Naturally, beekeeping is a craft that moves with the changing seasons. During a prolonged drought, I couldn’t continue to harvest the honey I sold at markets, but I still had remaining beeswax…

The beginning of a bee-utiful journey
To keep my small business afloat, I turned to what I like to call ‘Bee Plan’.
Beeswax is a natural preservative, so I began creating a range of artisanal soaps and clean skincare products blended with beeswax, essential oils, and other natural ingredients.
Unlike many mass-produced brands, I don’t believe in a complicated, multi-step skincare routine that requires consumers to have a Ph.D. to decipher the ingredients list.
Unable to find what I was looking for in the traditional skincare market, I was inspired to share simple and sustainable skincare products that are handcrafted with love in small batches.
